The association Diversa/mente
Diversa/mente is a non-profit cultural and social promotion association that has been working in the Bologna area since 2000, mainly in the field of psychological support and care for people of different linguistic and cultural origins, immigrants and children of immigrants. A transcultural clinical consultation service and an anti-discrimination desk are dedicated to them.
Diversa/mente carries out training, supervision and community interventions.
Diversa/mente is a multidisciplinary laboratory of study and research on the migratory experience and on the treatment of the suffering that accompanies it, starting from a critical review of our thinking, of the categories with which we represent otherness, and of the methodologies used in helping relationships.

Cross-cultural clinical consultation
For immigrants who require help and psychological support, a cross-cultural psychological consultation service is active for individual adults, couples and families, adolescents and children.The interviews are held by the members of the association Various/minds trained with specific cross-cultural skills (psychologists, anthropologists, cultural mediators). A compensation is required according to the economic availability of the person/family.
In the case of sending by the Services, a convention may be activated.
Diversa / mente collaborates with the SPAD: Anti-Discrimination Desk of the Municipality of Bologna, at the Zonarelli center. It coordinates the victim support function together with the Municipality.
Training
Supervision
The association Diversa/mente conducts supervisory meetings aimed at psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, cultural mediators, educators, teachers and in general those working in multicultural contexts. The supervision uses group work with particular attention to the analysis of the countertransfer and the cultural components.
The association Diversa/ment realizes training courses, seminars, study days, conferences, related to ethnopsychiatry, anthropology and cross-cultural clinic, aimed at different professional profiles (social-health workers, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, educators, teachers, cultural mediators...) in convention or in partnership with public and private entities. Annually the association also organizes thematic meetings of reflection and debate on ethnopsychiatrist and anthropological themes, addressed to all members.
Local activities
The projects, in partnership with public bodies and other non-profit and voluntary associations, within which Diversa/mind brings in particular its psychological and anthropological skills, focus on the prevention of discomfort in family reunions, the negotiation in conflicts between generations, the reduction of school dispersion, the enhancement of parental skills.
